I’ve left the Aizu Wakamatsu web cam online in the background for about the past half hour. While web cams have been around for years and generally quite boring, as I sit here in NJ, I’m amazed at the quality of video and sound coming to me from 7,000 miles away.

For those who are curious, Aiku Wakamatsu is on the JR Banetsu-sai Line. To get there from Tokyo, check out the Japan Railways timetable.

Damn it, you just caused me to spend ten minutes watching three trains – two of which moved, which I guess is the plus side – and a bunch of Japanese folks milling around a station.

And wtf is with that music?

If you ever visit Japan, you’ll hear music like that everywhere. Train stations, pedestrian crossings.

I’ve had it on in the background for most of the weekend. I keep wishing the darn picture would pan and zoom, or that SOMETHING would happen. But it all stays the same.
