Late to the Party
Sitting here at work browsing the web, I came across a Times article on Shojo anime and manga. I thought I was late finding out about it three or four years ago. Now that it’s nearing wider acceptance it’s time to discover some other popular-yet-obscure pop culture trend.
February
I don’t care for February. Both Valentine’s Day and my birthday occur in an 8 day span, and if I could skip them both completely, I’d be more than happy to do so. It’s just the double whammy screams “hey, you’re not getting any younger,” louder than any other time of the year.
Where’s March when you need it?
San Francisco in the News Again
Wow! Symbolic or not, it is still a milestone of a sort. I still don’t understand how groups opposed to stable family units could oppose same-sex unions. After all, wouldn’t a strong tradition of legal recongition only support and encourage family development? After all, marriage is fundamentally about committment is a cornerstone of the family unit. And I fault those in support of same-sex unions for not pursuing this message in a louder way, as I think it has a much better chance of resonating and defusing some of the tensions associated with the debate.
Hee Hee
See the February 8, 2004 entry for a very humorous (not real) rendition of an interview with Bush.
Must See TV
The flesh you didn’t see on TV during the Super Bowl. I’m duly impressed that this guy actually made it down to the field and managed to strip before anyone caught him. That’s some crack security.
Columbia
The Scotsman had an excellent writeup of the Columbia shuttle tragedy yesterday.
On another note, if anyone has a great idea for the implementation of a pseudo-dynamic column level security scheme, I’d love to hear it. 🙂
